Jack is back! Jack Bauer and Chloe are returning to your television screens this May. The series will be changing up the show’s timing and set up. Instead of 24 hours over 24 episodes, 24: Live Another Day, will be a tighter story with one day in the life of Jack shown over 12 sure-to-be intense episodes.
At the FOX Winter TCA Press Tour, Kiefer Sutherland (Jack), Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe) and the show’s producers spoke with reporters about the re-launch of the series.
Jack’s on the Run At the end of 24 season 8, Jack was on the run and Live Another Day will pick up four years later when he’s a high level fugitive being hunted by a CIA Agent. Jack reappears on his own terms with a mission which could be good or perhaps bad.
Why London? Given Jack’s status, it had to take place somewhere outside the United States. Jack wants to come home, but he can’t because he’s one of the US Most Wanted. Plus, the foreign location helps create the feel of an event.
Chloe’s a Mess Chloe is also integral to the story. Over the four years, she’s turned against the government and become quite radical.
Jack vs. Chloe This pair will be at odds with each other when the limited series begins.
Returning Characters In addition to Jack and Chloe, Audrey (Kim Raver) and President Heller (William Devane) will be returning.
New Characters Yvonne Strahovski will play Kate Morgan, a CIA Agent. In addition, there will be other new faces in London.
On Fan’s Demands that Chloe Return “There’s no Chloe without Jack,” said Rajskub. She added that she never expected to play Chloe again, but she’s looking forward to it.
24 Hours Even though the season will only last 12 hours, it will cover the full 24 hours. There may be a time jump between episodes. “The show will be in real time,” explained Manny Coto, executive producer.
24: Live Another Day premieres on Monday, May 5 at 8 pm ET on FOX.
