Sprague Grayden, well known for having either one of the best or one of the worst names in Hollywood, will play the daughter of the President of the United States on season 7 of 24. Grayden, who most recently has been seen as regular on the now-defunct Jericho and in a recurring role on Weeds, will play the daughter of 24’s new president, who will be portrayed by famed Broadway actress Cherry Jones. As for Grayden’s role on 24’s seventh season, these things are shrouded in mystery. Since it is 24, there’s a good chance Gradyen’s first kid character will be either be tortured, kidnapped, killed, kill someone, team up with Jack Bauer or all of the above.
Grayden, in addition to her role on 24, will also appear in the upcoming FX series Sons of Anarchy, where she’ll play a woman who tries to convince her husband to stay away from a motorcycle club. Come on, Sprague, let your husband have fun with the motor bikes.
For 24’s seventh season, Grayden joins an already impressive list of brand new cast members, which include: Janeane Garofalo, Rhys Coiro, Cherry Jones, Annie Wersching, Colm Feore, Jeffrey Nordling, John Billingsley and Carly Pope. Day 7 is a re-booting of sorts for the 24 franchise. The season will premiere in January 2009 and, for the first time, the action will all take place on the east coast, primarily in Washington, D.C. In addition, FOX will produce a two-hour season 7 prequel film that will air on November 23, in which Jack Bauer becomes embroiled in some sort of African conflict. Filming for the prequel will take place almost entirely in South Africa. This is a make or break season for 24, as the show lost a lot of its fans after a lackluster sixth season. Hopefully, the two year hiatus will equal a welcome return to form.
