As reported previously, many notable celebrities will be gracing the second season of the Emmy Award-winning NBC sitcom, 30 Rock. But among the many names mentioned, fans are raving about the much awaited guest appearance of Carrie Fisher, who is most famous for her portrayal of Princess Leia Organa in the original Star Wars trilogy. See how this massive “force” stirs up the SNL-esque sketch comedy show in the fourth episode of the season entitled “Rosemary’s Baby,” which is scheduled to air on October 25.
Read on for more 30 Rock spoilers.
Created by Tina Fey, 30 Rock takes place behind the scenes of a fictional comedy variety show originally called The Girlie Show, but was renamed TGS with Tracy Jordan. It also centers on Liz Lemon (Fey), the head writer who attempts to keep the show running and maintain its artistic integrity while trying to have a social life. Also adding comic relief on program are Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin), Liz’s business-minded boss, Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan), the popular yet unpredictable star of TGS, Jenna Maroney (Jane Krakowski), the female lead of TGS and a long-time friend of Liz, Kenneth Parcell (Jack McBrayer), the Southern-born NBC page, Pete Hornberger (Scott Adsit), the show’s producer and often Liz’s confidant, Frank Rossitano (Judah Friedlander), a sarcastic and quick-witted writer, and Rachel Dratch, the actress who plays a wide variety of characters throughout the series.
In “Rosemary’s Baby,” Liz meets her longtime idol, Rosemary Howard (Fisher), and hires her to be a guest writer on the show. Unfortunately, Rosemary’s radical ideology, which Liz grew up admiring, causes much friction as her ideas have now become too controversial for the NBC show. This fuels Jack to pressure Liz into firing her but Liz refuses to do so and promptly quits. Meanwhile, Jack brings Tracy to a therapist to figure out why he must do the opposite of what he is told.
Another spoiler for this episode is that Kenneth must compete in a page-off in order to keep his job after Jenna ruins his page jacket.
