The latest season of American Idol feels like yesterday — remember when we were all shocked to see an all-country finale? Oh, wait, I’m one of the few who wanted Haley Reinhart in the finale.
Anyway, if you were watching the World Series earlier, you would’ve seen the first promo for Idol‘s 11th season (yes, season 11, already). And, if you’re like me, you would’ve thought it was cheesy. If you missed it, here’s the whole video:
See? Cheesy. Especially with Randy and J.Lo and their “we’ll selectively critique contestants!” faces. Remember, the new Idol season premieres on January 22.
On to other developments in the Idol-sphere:
Scotty McCreery’s second music video is out! Here’s the video from his second single, “The Trouble With Girls”. This was shot in Scotty’s high school, featuring his friends as extras. Umm, I swear one of the girls kinda resembles Lauren Alaina:
Kelly Clarkson’s new album is now out! Her fifth release, Stronger, is now available where music is sold. Here’s one of the tracks from the album:
Speaking of new albums, Kellie Pickler’s revealed the name of her upcoming album: 100 Proof. It’ll be out on January 24. You can watch the video for her first single, “Tough”, here. Also, the tracklisting for James Durbin’s debut, Memories of a Beautiful Disaster, is out. Here’s the list. And why not listen to his first single, “Love Me Bad”?
On the other side of the spectrum, Crystal Bowersox has left Jive Records, according to The Hollywood Reporter, following the footsteps of season 9 winner Lee DeWyze. She’s working on new material, though, although you can expect that to be an independent release. What’s going on, season 9?
