Carrie Underwood‘s “Two Black Cadillacs” Music Video
The music video for Carrie Underwood‘s current single “Two Black Cadillacs” made its premiere both on Entertainment Tonight and online, and I highly recommend you watch it below. I’ve been deeply impressed by her music videos for the songs on Blown Away. They all have a similar dark and ominous feel to them. The muted and grayish color palette sets the tone right away. And as with some of her previous songs and videos, this one’s all about a cheating man and his mistress. On her Fan Club website, Carrie mentions that the video was inspired by a Stephen King story.
Randy Jackson Almost Quit After Season 11
Last summer was a disaster when it came to figuring out who the season 12 judging panel would be. Mariah, Nicki and Keith aside, would Randy Jackson be returning or not? Enrique Iglesias may fill the fourth spot and replace him. Fans rejoice as Randy is demoted to being a mentor. Never mind — Enrique’s deal fell through, and Randy’s back. Based on all that, we can assume FOX wouldn’t mind dumping the sole original judge.
But now, Randy Jackson himself is revealing he did in fact contemplate quitting the singing competition show after season 11. In an interview with Access Hollywood, he said, “It did cross my mind [to leave Idol], ’cause, you know, when we started this, we never knew it would go this long. So, thank God, I was so blessed to have the show and have it go this long, but, you know, sometimes you want to look at some other stuff.” Maybe he got fed up with being thrown around by FOX.
Randy went on to say, “When we started Idol, nobody knew who we [the judges] were. We were not famous names! So we could be brutally, totally honest with people without worrying about whatever preceded us in our careers, [or] how people viewed us before. We focus on the talent and we have some amazing talent this year.” Let’s hope there will be a focus on the contestants after what we’ve seen so far in the auditions.

Videos: Kelly Clarkson & Jennifer Hudson Perform at Inauguration
All anyone’s talking about this week is Beyonce-Gate, when it was revealed that Beyonce lip-synced the National Anthem during President Obama’s inauguration ceremony. But all I keep thinking about is how our very own Kelly Clarkson absolutely killed it with her moving rendition of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” which she performed immediately after the President gave his speech. It started off very soft and reserved, then powerful notes like you can’t believe came out of her mouth by the end. Let’s watch it again:
Afterwards, Kelly tweeted, “Wow ….I was incredibly nervous and cold ha! I just wanna officially thank President Obama for opening for me haha! Just kidding :)”
Later in the day, Jennifer Hudson performed Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” while the President and First Lady had their first dance. Jennifer’s a lucky woman, especially since Al Green turned down an invitation to perform.
The Top Album Sales: Phillip Phillips Gets a Boost from Idol
When season 12 premiered last Wednesday, the show opened with Phillip Phillips performing “Home.” And that one appearance in front of 17.9 million viewers did the trick and moved his debut album up six spots on the Billboard 200. Phillip Phillips’ The World from the Side of the Moon at #8, Selling 25,000 units (Total Sales: 644,000)
