Kelly Clarkson is Pregnant with Her First Child
The very first Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, has been talking nonstop for weeks now that she’s been wanting babies of her own after marrying someone who already has kids. And now she has made it official with an announcement on Twitter:
“I’m pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever.”
In an interview with Valentine the Morning that took place just days after getting married, Kelly said, “Everybody keeps saying, ‘What do you want for Christmas?’ And I’m like, ‘I want to be pregnant.'”
And looking back on it now, she may have been hinting at this announcement when she was a guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on November 11: “We are not announcing anything right now! We’re not, no. Practice makes perfect. We’re trying, trying, trying … like rabbits!” I’m sure she knew she was pregnant then, especially since she said she wasn’t “announcing anything right now” — didn’t say anything about revealing the news a week later.
Her appearance on Leno is made even funnier when you think about what the host said to her when bringing up this topic: “I always get these stars who come on and go, ‘I’m thinking about having a baby,’ and then the next week they go on Ellen and announce it there. So I’m asking you: are you pregnant? Remember — you’re under oath!” Won’t Leno be disappointed she broke the oath.
Congratulations to Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock on this exciting news.
Behind the Scenes with Carrie Underwood for The Sound of Music Live
Carrie Underwood is hard at work rehearsing and prepping for the upcoming NBC production The Sound of Music Live. I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials being played all the time lately. And now two new behind the scenes videos have been released giving us a sneak peek at what to expect.
In the first video, via Access Hollywood, we see Carrie singing “My Favorite Things,” performing “Do Re Mi” with the actors playing the Von Trapp children, “Edelweiss” with True Blood‘s Stephen Moyer who plays Captain Von Trapp and the nuns on “How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?”
Carrie makes a great point: “There is a chance somebody is going to screw up at some point.” This is a live production, after all.

In the second video, courtesy of NBC, there is a little bit of overlap with the footage, but there’s some new interviews, including one with Smash alum Christian Borle.
Crystal Bowersox’s New Holiday Song “Coming Out for Christmas”
It’s always a welcome sight to see Crystal Bowersox putting out new music. And this time, it’s a holiday song called “Coming Out for Christmas.” And while it has a surface level meaning to it in terms of being home with family during the holidays, on a deeper level it’s about people who are in the LGBT community, and being able to spent this time with family and not be shunned by them because of your sexual orientation.
“The holidays are here, and it pains me to think that anyone would be left alone or be forbidden to be with their family over something as silly as their sexual orientation,” Crystal said about the message behind the song (courtesy of MjsBigBlog). “I hope it will serve as a holiday anthem for people who may finally have the courage to live their life as their true authentic self, proudly and unapologetically, and that their friends and family will love and accept them with loving open arms.”
