It’s almost time for another season of America’s Best Dance Crew. Season 4 begins Sunday, August 9 at 9pm, just three short days after So You Think You Can Dance comes to a close. And if you thought cloggers were outside the box, wait until you get a load of the crews for this season.
America’s Best Dance Crew promises to once again include a diverse group of dance styles, from hip hop and b-boy to Latin and country line dancing all the way to something called tranny vogue. Yes, that means season 4 will, for the first time, include a transsexual crew. This ain’t your mama’s dance show.
Below you can find clips from the nine crews competing this season, but the early favorite has to be Massive Monkees. I’m not saying that just because they’re from Seattle and so am I. Nor am I saying it because certain BuddyTV writers has seen and loved the Massive Monkees multiple times, or that they teach young kids break dancing at a non-profit a few blocks away from our office. I’m saying it because they are amazing b-boys with tricks, style and the star quality to dominate the show every week. They represent everything Shane Sparks loves about dance.
Also, America’s Best Dance Crew has a definite West Coast bias. The three winning crews hail from California or Nevada, so right away the five crews not on this side of the Rocky Mountains can take a hike. However, it’s safe to say Lil Mama will get emotional when talking about Bronx crew Rhythm City.
