I expect tonight’s episode of Big Brother to be thoroughly entertaining. Jerry and April, now nominated, going toe to toe, campaigning, squirming. Yeah, that’ll be fun. I’m most interested in how Jerry reacts. There’s a very good chance he just folds. He’s in his seventies, has been on slop forever, and likely has no energy to attempt to save himself. It will be a massive indictment of April’s character if she, competing against an elderly lump like Jerry, is unable to save herself. But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Tonight’s Big Brother holds the Power of Veto competition and ceremony. An April, Jerry or Ollie victory would produce fear and chaos house-wide. Regardless of what happens, I predict there will be yelling, unnecessary bikini shots, enough April-Ollie cuddling for me to curb my own head on my desk and at least one wildly inappropriate comment for Jerry. Have I mentioned how much I hate these long, long recaps of previous episodes on Big Brother? Oh, I have? Like on every single live thoughts? OK, I’ll shut up.
Did Renny really say April was a “tough-cookied woman?” Or just “tough-cookie woman?” Either way, it’s pretty funny.
Renny says, straight up, that April is her target. April says that, try as she might, she’s taking it personally. She tries to cry in the Diary Room, but she’s not a good enough actress to pull it off.
Dan is upset that Renny didn’t put Ollie up instead of Jerry. He thinks that Ollie must have struck a deal with Renny.
I’m so over quiet time with April and Ollie. April and Ollie fight over…you got me. This is the most baffling passive-aggressive argument I’ve ever seen.
Keesha goes to the HoH. Renny admits to liking Ollie. This leads Keesha to believe that if April or Jerry win the Power of Veto, she wouldn’t put Ollie.
Jerry has begun talking to himself inside the Big Brother house. He’s gone just a little bit senile. At least he’s somewhat self-aware.
Let’s choose some Power of Veto players. April, Renny, Jerry, Dan, Keesha and Ollie. Ollie’s inclusion is HUGE TIME for April and Ollie. Michelle will host.
April and Ollie celebrate after his name gets picked. “Somebody’s praying for us,” says Ollie. Sure, dude.
Memphis, Dan and Keesha are all starting to feel uncomfortable about Renny. Memphis, especially, has lost all trust.
Time for the Veto competition. It takes place at night. The players come out to the backyard, and it is haunted. Graves, mummies, a python, and each of the players all have voodoo dolls of their likenesses. Michelle tells the players they have five minutes to examine the backyard.
The object of the game is to win three points. Big Brother asks a question – every answer will be an amount. The players will right down what they think the answer is. After they write down their answer and share them with everyone else, the players are allowed to stay or fold. If you fold, you can’t win a point. Of the people who stay, the person closest to the actual amount wins a point. Everyone else who stayed is eliminated.
Actually, only the person furthest away is eliminated.
Jerry wins the first point, Renny eliminated.
Jerry wins the second point, and April is eliminated.
Dan wins the next point, and Keesha is eliminated.
Dan wins the second point, because he was the only one who stayed.
And DAN WINS THE POWER OF VETO!!!
Ollie is beating himself up over the challenge. More April and Ollie time. Blech.
April has $5,000 in the form of a gold bar. She’s thinking about using it to bribe Dan. Dan, meanwhile, is still upset about Renny not nominating Ollie. Therefore, he’s thinking about using the Power of Veto to take Jerry off the block. Let’s see how Jerry acts in the face of an olive branch.
Jerry says that his Judas talk was uncalled for. He says that if Dan helps him stay, he’ll be indebted to him. This is actually a good opportunity for Dan to erase his one enemy in the house. Dan and Memphis talk – they think they should get Ollie out of the house. They’re making him out to seem like a big unknown.
Dan gets a haircut from Renny. Renny will not explain what she’s going to do to Dan’s head. He says a prayer while she cuts his hair. “If you don’t shut up, I’ll scalp the crap the hell out of you,” Renny responds. Touche.
Dan is happy with the haircut. The dining room table is now smaller.
April and Dan have a conversation. April is exceptionally worried. April is grasping at straws here.
Dan and Renny have a contentious conversation in the HoH room. Renny won’t answer any questions about who she’d put up in case Jerry went off the block.
After much deliberation, Dan decides to not use the Power of Veto. Probably a good decision. There are too many risks involved in using it at this point.
