CBS is hoping that stars of its two biggest reality franchises will help launch its new summer game show, Candy Crush. Hosted by Mario Lopez and based on the popular app game, Candy Crush will premiere Sunday, July 9 at 9/8c with two games featuring contestants from Big Brother and Survivor.
In the Big Brother side, season 18 runner-up Paul Abrahamian will team up with the woman he backdoored, Da’Vonne Rogers, against season 16’s Frankie Grande (Ariana’s “social media mogul” brother) and Caleb Reynolds (the Beastmode Cowboy who also played on Survivor twice).
The Survivor half of the episode will feature a quartet of castaways who all competed together on the Second Chances season. Joe Anglim and Kelly Wentworth will go up against Woo Hwang and the winner of Survivor: Second Chances, Jeremy Collins.
This is nothing new for CBS, which also included contestants from Big Brother and Survivor in special primetime episodes of The Price Is Right last year.
Candy Crush will air Sundays at 9/8c, right after a new episode of Big Brother 19.
