Anne Dudek, also known as Amber “Cutthroat Bitch” Volakis on House, has just confirmed that she is expecting a baby. In fact, she brought her baby bump out in full force to the season 2 premiere of AMC’s critically acclaimed series Mad Men in Los Angeles Monday.
“I’m having a baby,” Dudek told People with excitement.
On House, Dudek played Robert Sean Leonard’s love interest last season but was killed off in a freak bus accident. Nevertheless, she continues to be seen on television as the nosy neighbor Francine Hanson on Mad Men and as one of antagonist Alby Grant’s wives on HBO’s Big Love, where her unborn baby will be making its acting debut.
“The thing is I haven’t been that pregnant while I’ve been working on House or Mad Men or Big Love,” she said. “But Big Love we’re going to be filming for a while and I’m starting to get a little bigger now – but all those polygamist women are pregnant all the time anyway!”
This marks Dudek’s first child with husband Matthew Heller. According to Dudek, she is just under five months and is feeling great.
“Cheese and sleeping, that’s my life these days,” she added.
Aside from the aforementioned shows, Dudek is also known for portraying cruise line heiress Tiffany Wilson in the 2004 comedy film White Chicks. She has also starred on the sitcom The Book Group and has landed numerous guest roles on Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, Friends, Charmed, Bones, Six Feet Under, Psych, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In addition, she has won the Connecticut Critics Circle Award for outstanding performance in The Glass Menagerie.
Fans can catch Anne Dudek and her baby bump when Big Love returns for a third season on January 11, 2009 on HBO.
