Today FOX released its summer schedule with premiere dates for So You Think You Can Dance, Hell’s Kitchen and MaserChef.
So You Think You Can Dance kicks off season 8 with a two-hour premiere Thursday, May 26 at 8pm. This season brings back Mary Murphy, the conductor of the Hot Tamale Train, as a judge after she was sadly absent last season. The show will continue throughout the summer with two-hour performance episodes on Wednesdays and one-hour results shows on Thursdays at 8pm, just like American Idol.
In addition to dance, the summer is loaded with cooking shows as a duo of Gordon Ramsay reality competitions help fill out the schedule. The second season of the novice competition MasterChef premieres Monday, June 6 at 8pm and will continue Tuesday, June 7 at 8pm. That’s right, MasterChef is going to take up two nights every week, which I guess is a little better than single two-hour episodes.
Finally, season 9 of Hell’s Kitchen will heat up starting Tuesday, July 19 at 9pm, following MasterChef.
Aside from the new reality shows, FOX is also shuffling up its rerun schedule a bit. If you want to catch reruns of your favorite FOX show, here’s where to find them over the summer:
House: Moves to Mondays at 9pm
Raising Hope and Traffic Light: Will continue to air at 9pm on Tuesdays until July 19
Glee: Moves to Thursdays at 9pm following So You Think You Can Dance
Bones: Moves to Fridays at 8pm
Lie to Me: Reruns will air Fridays at 9pm
The Chicago Code: Reruns will air Saturdays at 9pm starting June 25
Obviously this means Fringe fans won’t be getting any repeats during the summer.
