Last week, ABC’s hit series Castle was honored at an event held at the Paley Center in Los Angeles. Fans were treated to a screening of an episode, as well as a Q&A with the stars and creators of the show. BuddyTV got the chance to talk exclusively with Seamus Dever, Juliana Dever, Jon Huertas, Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller on the red carpet before the event.

Seamus Dever (who plays Kevin Ryan) brought along a very special guest with him on the red carpet: His wife Juliana, who happens to also play his wife, Jenny, on the show. This season, Kevin and Jenny are expecting their first child and the two had a lot to say about how that will affect the couple.

Highlights from the interview:

Both promise that fans will see more of Jenny this season. Seamus points out that that is because there will be more of her to see.

They talk about how the pregnancy is affecting Kevin and Jenny’s relationship. Apparently Kevin has been very good at getting her the foods she craves, but won’t let her eat or drink things she’s not allowed to.

According to Seamus, the baby’s impending arrival will put an interesting wrinkle into the Ryan/Esposito bromance, when Ryan can’t hang out as much as Espo would want.

While Seamus thinks it will be fun to ask Esposito to babysit, Juliana thinks that is a really bad idea.

Susan Sullivan pops in to say hello and all talk about how Martha will be a great influence over the new baby.

Seamus promises that there are more surprises coming about Ryan’s past.

Jon Huertas (who plays Esposito on the show) chatted with us about the impending arrival of the new baby, the relationship between Lanie and Esposito, as well as the bromance between Ryan and Esposito.

Highlights from the interview:

Episode 9 may have a lot of Lanie/Esposito drama, though not necessarily “sexy times.”

Huertas talks about how he feels about where Lanie and Esposito are in their relationship.

Huertas says Esposito will be very happy and excited for Ryan when the new baby arrives.

Once Ryan has a child, Huertas says that Esposito will see his partner in a whole new light.

Castle creator Andrew W. Marlowe and his wife Terri Miller (who is also a writer on the show), dropped by to chat about what fans can expect to see this season.

Highlights from the interview:

Marlowe teases upcoming episodes, including: Castle playing hostage negotiator, a murder suspect who claims to be a time traveler, a National Treasure-like episode and a serial killer episode.

When asked if the aforementioned serial killer will appear in multiple episodes, Marlowe would only say that the answer to that question was “complicated.”

On the Castle and Beckett relationship this season, Marlowe says that they will deal with many obstacles (both comedic and dramatic), but that then they will also try to figure out their rhythm and where the relationship will go next.

As to whether or not there will be a wedding on the show this season, Marlowe says that Castle and Beckett are definitely planning to get married, but fans will have to see if an onscreen wedding is “in the cards” for Season 6.

Marlowe teases upcoming storylines for Alexis and her new boyfriend, Ryan’s new baby, plus Lanie and Esposito.

What did you think after watching the interviews? What storylines are you most excited to see as Castle Season 6 progresses?
