I guess it’s that time again. Dancing with the Stars has been off the air for weeks, and we are even more weeks away from the next season of the reality show. Obviously, we can start the inundation of names for potential new “stars.”
One of the first names appearing on the scene for season 13? Lohan.
No, not Lindsay Lohan, however much the DWTS producers would love that. It is instead Dina Lohan, Lindsay’s mother who has surfaced as a possible competitor on the dancing program.
According to the New York Post, Lohan was overheard talking about plans to appear on Dancing with the Stars while she attended a party in Water Mill, NY.
OK, so that’s not the most reliable of sources. Still, this is a Lohan we’re talking about, so it counts as news. The producers of Dancing with the Stars obviously have no comment at this point.
How about a more unusual star?
An article published in the St. Petersburg Times says that Sig Hansen, the boat captain featured on Discovery’s The Deadliest Catch, could possibly be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars in the near future.
They’ve never had one of those before.
This isn’t even a joke. The fisherman has stated in the past that he’s a big fan of the show and thinks now that it might be fun, saying “So they’re looking at it for next March, and I’ll do it. I think it’d be good for the brand, once-in-a-lifetime thing, and it’s f—in’ cool, you know? Why not, you know?”
This seems to indicate that Hansen would not appear until the 14th season, airing in the spring of 2012. Appearing any earlier would require getting the OK from Discovery about scheduling conflicts.
So, to recap, that’s a notorious celebrity mom and a fisherman. Variety is good.
Who do you want to see on Dancing with the Stars? Which celebrities seem to make the best DWTS dancers? Do you expect either of these “stars” to make the cut? Leave a comment below!
