There is nothing complicated about it. Denise Richards: It’s Complicated‘s initially modest ratings (1.5 million for the premiere) had since continued to drop prompting E! to end the show once and for all. Apparently, after seeing a few episodes, people have started dropping the reality show featuring the former Bond girl and tabloid mainstay off their viewing habits to tune in to other things.
“The numbers started out pretty good – just over 1.5 million tuned into the premiere episode. But the audience has dropped off. Denise has turned into an unappealing reality star,” a source tells The Insider.
Part of the reason, according to the same source, is Richards’ proclivity to use bad language even as the cameras followed her every move. Believe it or not, adds the source, “viewers were disgusted that a mother of two young girls would use such foul language.”
It wasn’t the first time that the ex-husband of Charlie Sheen had received criticism for allegedly using her two daughters to make the show more interesting, following a legal battle where she sought to get the court’s permission to drag her two kids into the whole spectacle that has become her reality show. Richards had been adamant in including her daughters, Sam, 4, and Lola, 3, on It’s Complicated.
“The fact is, my kids loved it. If they didn’t, I wouldn’t have had them it in it. They loved that I was working at home. They’re in it very little, and I had the final say on what was shown,” she said in a previous interview.
Denise Richards: It’s Complicated premiered just a little over three months ago on E! and is produced by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.
