With every Desperate Housewives fan talking about what’s happening outside Wisteria Lane, it’s time for ABC to shift the focus back to the show.

There is, however, a development on the case: ABC execs are reportedly dreading a PR nightmare in the form of a court battle against scorned Nicolette Sheridan. They’re reportedly wooing her with a financial package to drop the $20 million lawsuit against Desperate creator Marc Cherry. No word yet on whether a compromise has been reached.

Now on to the finale details, courtesy of Desperate Housewives executive producer Bob Daily.

Money matters
In that much-used, sometimes-disappointing lexicon of season finales, Daily tells EW that a “life-changing decision” is in the offing for Mike (James Denton) and Susan (Teri Hatcher) in the closer amid their financial woes. If you as well as most people think the problem is limited to Mike, you are wrong.

“They’re experiencing the economic woes that much of America is experiencing, and it’s going to create issues in their marriage and it will lead them to make a life-changing decision in the finale.”

The birth
As for Lynette’s (Felicity Huffman) pregnancy, Daily says she’ll give birth under “pretty scary circumstances” that is somehow connected to the Fairview Strangler arc.

“She’s going to be getting closer and closer to the identity of the person who’s been terrorizing the women of Fairview, and then give birth, like I said, under less than ideal circumstances.”

Angie and Gaby?
It’s an odd tandem to say the least, but Angie (Drea de Matteo) will find a mate in Gaby (Eva Longoria-Parker).

“Gaby will end up being Angie’s confidante. And she’ll help her out as she tries to get away from her past.”

The death
The reported house explosion idea has apparently been nixed, says Daily, but there will still be a “big explosion” in the finale, potentially related to the death of “someone the audience has gotten to know this season.

One of the Bolens, probably? Any other ideas?
