EW reports that after nearly two years of marriage, Dexter stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are divorcing.
Reps for both actors tell the site, “Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce.” They added that the split was “amicable.”
There’s never good timing for this type of news, but the day after a Dexter season finale seems particularly tragic. I was really rooting for these two, as I’m sure many of my fellow Dexter fans were, too. They have such great chemistry on and off-screen.
Hall and Carpenter met on the set of Dexter, on which she plays his adopted sister, Deb. They married December 31, 2008.
Hall was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma last year, and was cured after completing treatments earlier this year.
