Tangi Miller drew much attention when she was cast on the series Felicity. Her exposure on the drama series as Elena Tyler enabled her to be named as one of TV Guide’s Sexiest Faces. For four years, she played the smart and stylish character. She was Felicity’s first lab partner who appeared to be fiercely competitive. Eventually, she became one of Felicity’s closest friends.
After Felicity ended, Miller landed several guest roles on television shows like Fastlane, The Twilight Zone, and The District. She also voice acted on the animated series Kim Possible. She became part of the drama Class Action and the horror-science fiction Phantom Force. She tapped into the crime-drama genre with shows like The Division as Deena Bishop, and on Cold Case as Nora Lincoln. In addition, she landed comedic roles on Living with Fran, and Half & Half.
After numerous television appearances, she graced the movie world with films like Hurricane in the Rose Garden as the lead character Sade. Directed by Ime Etuk, the drama film centers on a couple’s marriage that struggles with the cultural pressures of having a child. Other cast members include Pascal Atuma, Aloma Wright, Oris Erhuero, and Tanjareen Martin.
Next, she became part of Madea’s Family Reunion, along with Tyler Perry, Blaire Underwood, Lynn Whitfield, Boris Kodjoe, Henry Simmons, and Lisa Arrindell Anderson among others. Most recently, she was cast to play the role of Stormy La Rue in the romantic comedy Love…& Other 4 Letter Words.
This year, Miller will be featured in the film After School, a family drama directed by Walter Powell and Cifford Reed. The plot of the movie is about a young writer who attempts to save an after school program against all odds. With the help of his girlfriend Shonda, he gets inspired to save the program with a dance competition. After School features Miller as Shonda, along with Scotty Noyd Jr., Carla Jeffrey, Aloma Wright, Mariah I. Wilson, Jeffrey Lorenzo, and Gabrielle Dennis.
