Get ready, because here come the celebrity judges! E! Online has confirmed that infamous gossip blogger Perez Hilton and Suburgatory and Entourage actor Rex Lee will round out the judging panel at this year’s Nationals showchoir competition where New Directions will get another shot at the crown. This casting comes on the heels of what BuddyTV reported on just a few weeks ago that Lindsay Lohan has been tapped to play one of the celebrity judges.
Filming for Nationals begins this week and all three will be showing up (well, we hope Lindsay shows up) to film their spots. As E! reports, “Lindsay will appear in the May 15 episode of Glee as a judge for Nationals, and sources say she has some funny moments as she plays a ‘heightened’ version of herself, including being disappointed she doesn’t get a red chair that whips around like on The Voice.”
This is the first time we’re getting a concrete date for when Glee‘s Nationals episode will air: May 15. That is one week before the season 3 finale, which means that the finale will most likely focus on graduation.
“We can also tell you that Lindsay also has a long speech,” E! continues, “where she talks about kid performers, and how hard they work, and how much she supports the arts.” Yesterday, word was going around the web that Lohan would have a “full scene” and it’s “meaty,” which I assume means there’s some substance to it. It looks like that this “meaty” scene is the speech she will give.
We know that Lohan is playing herself, albeit a “heightened” version. While we don’t know for sure, we can only assume that Perez Hilton and Rex Lee will play themselves as well. But since nothing is known at this point about the male judges here, it seems as if Lindsay will be the one in the spotlight out of the three of them.
What do you make of this casting news? Are you looking forward to Perez Hilton and Rex Lee? And do you think Lindsay Lohan will be praised or critiqued for her guest spot?
Glee airs Tuesday nights at 8pm on FOX.
