“We are family, I got all my [brothers] with me, We are family, Get up everybody and sing.” I figure this is the most fitting tune for what’s about to happen on Glee: a duet among family, or brothers to be exact.
Darren Criss’ Blaine will soon be pairing up with his on-screen brother, to be played by the recently cast Matt Bomer from White Collar, on some Duran Duran tracks. The band has given clearance for Glee to use two or three of their songs for a mash-up to be performed by Blaine and his bro.
As TVLine reports, “A show source says the Duran Duran number will be ‘very sexy and fun and big,’ adding that Bomer is a ‘big dancer,’ and that Darren Criss, who plays Blaine, is a major Duran aficionado who ‘has long hungered for some of these songs.'”
I previously speculated that since Bomer would be making his very special appearance in April, maybe it would coincide with the planned Saturday Night Fever tribute episode. But unless Duran Duran has some secret tracks embedded on that soundtrack, it doesn’t look like that’s happening. Oh, well.
Take a look at this video of Bomer performing with Kelli O’Hara at the Kennedy Center Honors. Listen to his voice and see if you think he would do justice to Duran Duran, or at least a Glee version of Duran Duran.
Are you excited to hear some Duran Duran on Glee? Which tracks do you want to hear the Anderson brothers perform in this mash-up? I’m hoping for “Hungry Like the Wolf.” Share your suggestions in the comments.
