This week, FOX will air the sixth episode of Glee season 5. Think about this for a moment: Only six episodes in and we’re already at not only our second tribute, but it also means that half of the season so far (since the Beatles covered two weeks), has been made up of musical tribute episodes. Let that sink in for a moment. Is this a sign of things to come?

Thursday’s episode of Glee will honor the music of Billy Joel. I’m not saying he’s a bad choice or anything, but it just seems like kind of a random choice. Is it just me? Anyway, all seven songs from “Moving’ Out,” as originally sung by the Piano Man himself, have been released: “Movin’ Out,” “Piano Man,” “My Life,” “Honesty,” “An Innocent Man,” “You May Be Right” and “Just the Way You Are.”
This won’t be the first time “Piano Man” has been covered on Glee. The first time was way back in season 1 when Neil Patrick Harris guest starred as Bryan Ryan, and both he and Mr. Schue sang it while at a bar.
In “Movin’ Out,” the students who are about to graduate start making plans for when they leave McKinley. Supermodel and America’s Next Top Model host Tyra Banks guest stars as a modeling agent — she receives a visit from Sam, who heads to New York with Blaine to consider his options of becoming a model.

Which of these covers is your favorite? Are you excited that Glee is paying tribute to the music of Billy Joel? Or are there other, better options for a tribute episode?
Glee airs Thursdays at 9pm on FOX.
