One of the most powerful storylines in the sixth and final season of Glee is Coast Beiste transitioning from female to male. In the appropriately titled “Transitioning,” Beiste returns to McKinley High School as Sheldon. Fortunately, Principal Sue Sylvester has been supportive, and when Sheldon shows up, we’ll get to see the return of Unique Adams.
Elsewhere, Will Schuester teaches a lesson on tolerance to Vocal Adrenaline, and Rachel finds support from the members of New Directions after her childhood home is sold, following the divorce of her parents.
Most of the songs being performed in this episode are duets, with Will and Unique, Mercedes and Roderick, Kurt and Blaine, and Sam and Rachel pairing up. There’s also a Vocal Adrenaline number, and a performance by Unique with a transsexual choir.
