New Directions may be performing at Sectionals during tonight’s “Thanksgiving” episode, but Vanessa Lengies has said to expect a cliffhanger at the end. Read on to find out what it could be. The cover art for Glee‘s latest Christmas album has been revealed, as has the song list for next week’s “Swan Song.” And Chris Colfer discusses Kurt’s post-Klaine life and if he’ll let it affect him at work.
Expect a Sectionals Cliffhanger
Whenever Glee has a showchoir competition episode, the climax of the storyline usually is finding out which Glee Club won. Now, obviously we assume that happens tonight as well, but Vanessa Lengies, who plays Sugar, spoke to Wetpaint and says to expect something extra once all is said and done: “There is a Kitty/Marley situation. … And [Becca Tobin’s] character has it out for Marley, in a way that even when I read the script, I’m a little bit like, wow. This is so Mean Girls. It’s so intense.” She goes on to say, “At the end of Sectionals, that’s the big cliffhanger, Sectionals definitely ends with a cliffhanger.”
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Melissa Benoist echoed a similar sentiment. “Sectionals is a really dramatic episode,” she said. “How far Kitty has penetrated Marley’s mind really affects everyone. It’s such a negative thing and Marley is so affected by it that everyone can see and sense it and it’s such an epic pinnacle.” Melissa likens Kitty and Marley to a game of chess, always having to “make moves around each other.”
But what could this cliffhanger be? While we won’t know for sure until the episode airs, TVLine is teasing that “Someone collapses during Sectionals.” Could that be the cliffhanger? Has Kitty affected Marley so much with her weight that she ends up going unconscious? If so, it’ll be interesting to see the consequences of that on Kitty’s part and if she starts realizing how much harm she’s causing.
Chris Colfer Talks Kurt Post-Klaine
We already know that a Klaine reunion is coming up in a couple weeks. But speaking of Kurt and Blaine, Chris Colfer has commented on how Kurt will handle his life in New York now that he’s not in a relationship: “He hasn’t really grasped New York yet — he goes to work and comes home and tells Rachel things. I would really like to see him go out and have fun and meet new people.” And it doesn’t seem like Kurt’s going to let a breakup affect him very much. Chris also said he’s happy working at Vogue.com and continues that tight-knit bond with Sarah Jessica Parker’s character, Isabelle.
Christmas Album Cover Art and Bonus Tracks
Last week, BuddyTV reported on the announcement of a third Glee Christmas album, and the 10 tracks to be featured. We now have more information on Glee: The Music — The Christmas Album, Volume 3, available December 11, including the cover art which you can see for yourself below:
As with the previous holiday releases, not all of the songs on the album will be performed on the show. The six tracks we’ll hear on Glee, according to a press release, are “Feliz Navidad,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Hanukkah Oh Hanukkah,” “White Christmas,” “Jingle Bell Rock” and “The First Noel.” The four remaining tracks are exclusive to this album: “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Silent Night,” “Joy to the World” and “Happy Xmas (War is Over).”
“Swan Song” Song List Revealed
Lately, everyone’s been talking about and teasing this week’s Sectionals/Thanksgiving episode as well as the Love, Actually holiday show in December. But there’s actually an episode in between those that hasn’t been brought up as much called “Swan Song.” According to the recently revealed song list, there will be four songs featured: “All That Jazz” from Chicago, “Being Alive” from Company, Barbra Streisand’s “Being Good Isn’t Good Enough” and Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over.” As you can see, there’s a big Broadway musical emphasis, which leads to the assumption that the episode will be focused more heavily on Rachel and Kurt in New York. There are rumors that most of these will be performed by them as well as Cassandra July, but nothing’s confirmed on that front as of yet.
