Get Ready for Sarah Jessica Parker
I’m sure fans are thinking, September 27 can’t come soon enough — because that’s when Sarah Jessica Parker will make her debut on Glee as the editor of Vogue.com, Isabelle Wright. Now that Kurt has made his way to NYC, he’s about to start a whole new journey as Isabelle’s intern. And here’s our first look at SJP on the show (courtesy of TV Guide), standing next to Kurt:
Marley’s Mom Sticking Around (and a Jessica Sanchez Update)
During last week’s premiere, viewers were introduced to, and fell in love with, Marley Rose’s mother. Now The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the actress who plays her, Trisha Rae Stahl, will continue to appear on the show in a recurring role. “We’ll definitely see more of her home life because I think that’s part of who Marley is,” Melissa Benoist (Marley Rose) said. “She’s very close with her mom. … Her family life has been a struggle, and you’ll definitely see how that’s affected her, and maybe we’ll learn more about it.”
Speaking of newbies to Glee, American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez gave a short and simple update on reports that she will be heading to McKinley High: “Nothing’s confirmed … But it’s in the works.”
“Makeover” Songs
The song list from next Thursday’s episode of Glee, titled “Makeover,” has been revealed: “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears, “A Change Would Do You Good” by Sheryl Crow, “Mister Monotony” by Judy Garland, a mash-up of Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight” and “You’re Never Fully Dressed” from the musical Annie and “Celebrity Skin” by Hole. Many of these songs do seem to fit with the episode title, don’t you think?
Bringing Back the High School Graduates
One graduated … and one is still in school. No doubt that’ll put a strain on a relationship, right? TVLine says that “Tina will start out the season adjusting to her split from Mike … The ex-couple reconnect in Episode 5 for the first time since calling it quits.” Jenna Ushkowitz elaborated by saying, “It’s definitely going to be hard. It’ll be a truthful and honest [depiction of] what people go through in a break-up.” Harry Shum, Jr. has said pretty much the same thing, adding, “You’ll get a little more explanation on how that ended.”
And with the introduction of Puck’s younger brother to the show, it seems inevitable that the graduated bad-boy will eventually come back and meet him. Jacob Artist, who plays the younger Puckerman, says that “It’s definitely kind of shocking for them both initially. Puck has never met [my character], and I’ve never met Puck. Obviously, the confrontation — there’s a lot of tension going on … it’s definitely a touchy moment for the both of them. [The outcome] definitely affects them.” Hopefully we’ll get an update on how he’s doing post-high school as well.
Speaking of those who have moved on from McKinley, what about Mercedes, who moved to L.A. to begin her music career? Lea Michele gave a small teaser to E! Online: “I’ll say that Rachel and Kurt go back [to] Ohio and Amber [Riley] is there. I can’t say why, but we go back and visit and she’s there helping with something.” What could she be helping with? There’s expected to be a cast reunion coming up in November during the Thanksgiving episode — is that when we’ll next see her? Let’s hope Brittany doesn’t confuse her and Unique again.
