Tonight’s episode of Glee might not be the 100th episode (though it’s the conclusion of the two-part event), but it’s still important nonetheless because it’s the final episode before the show moves full-time to New York.
In “New Directions,” April Rhodes (Kristin Chenoweth) and Holly Holliday (Gwyneth Paltrow) set out to save the glee club, as we saw them mention at the end of last week’s episode. We’ll also see Rachel and Santana try and make up and hopefully become friends again.
Glee Episode 5.13 Songs: New Directions Reprises “Don’t Stop Believin'” >>>
FOX has released a clip from the episode that features Paltrow’s character. In the video, which you can watch below, Holly Holliday performs Eddie Murphy’s “Party All the Time” with some backup by the alumni and Blaine.
By the end, it’s quite the production — but that’s nothing new on Glee, obviously. It starts off with Holly in a cowgirl-type outfit with a brunette wig that she whips off. (Entertainment Weekly notes that it looks like she’s dressed up as Temple Grandin.) They eventually make their way to what appears to be a club or foam party.
Since most of the characters in the clip are alumni, I’m wondering why Blaine is the only current New Directions member there and who all the other unknown students are.
“How’s that for a field trip?!” Holly exclaims at the end. Yeah, that’s quite a field trip.
Besides “Party All the Time,” the other songs featured in the episode are “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” “Loser Like Me,” “Be Okay,” “I Am Changing” “Just Give Me a Reason” and “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
What do you think of the performance? Do you like all the outfits and the foam party? And are you curious as to why Holly took them on this “field trip”?
Glee airs Tuesdays at 8pm on FOX.
