The Voice Meets Glee?
Glee is known for bringing aboard guest stars on a constant basis, whether it’s Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Britney Spears, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ricky Martin, Whoopi Goldberg or others. And coming on the heels of last month’s major news that Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson would be joining the show for multi-episode arcs in season 4, we now have word that another major star may be heading to the FOX musical comedy.
E! Online is reporting today that The Voice‘s Adam Levine may stop by in season 4. “I’ve talked to Ryan [Murphy] a lot about it. I’m doing his other show now. It’s the super dark, non-musical version of Glee: American Horror Story,” he says. “We’ve had multiple conversations about it in the past, trying to find the right thing for it, so hopefully one day!”
This wouldn’t be the first time Levine and the Glee universe have crossed paths. Back in February, he started his own record label and signed Glee‘s very own Matthew Morrison as his first artist. And the show has already covered some of his band Maroon 5’s songs before, including “Moves Like Jagger.”
But I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high on this casting right now; over the years there have been other celebrities that have either talked with Murphy about guest starring (Anne Hathaway) or have actually been cast (Pitbull) and never made appearances. But if Levine does secure a role, what type of a character would you like to see him play?
More Season 4 Casting News
Besides Parker and Hudson (and possibly Levine), Glee is looking to cast three new roles, all of whom will be series regulars. The first is a “male character in the early- to mid-twenties age range,” according to Zap2it, “who is also a fantastic singer.” Zap2it believes he will be involved in one of the graduated character’s storylines, considering the age.
But with many students leaving McKinley, there are open spots to fill. And one of those will be taken up by a 16-year-old girl who’s “got to be ‘pretty’ — and she’s got to be able to sing.” There’s not much description there, only “pretty” — maybe it’s someone to fill the Quinn void?
But the biggest casting call scoop is the addition of Puck’s 16-year-old younger brother. “They’re looking for someone who is not only good looking and resembles Mark Salling, but who can play the guitar — just like big bro!” This particular role is intriguing, considering Glee has never mentioned Puck having a younger brother, only a sister seen in a small scene at their home. Is this another attempt by Murphy to change the canon of the show, and make everything up along the way? And considering the age of the brother and that he can play the guitar, we can assume he joins New Directions (and if he’s already at McKinley, you would think Puck would’ve mentioned him at some point).
