NBC is killing love and replacing it with monsters. Today the network announced that the new reality dating competition Ready for Love will be pulled from the air and, starting on Tuesday, April 30, the final four episodes of Grimm season 2 will take its place at 10pm.
Grimm, currently airing Fridays at 9pm, will move after the new episode airing April 19. For the rest of the spring, it will be replaced by Dateline on Friday nights.
Currently there is no information about if or when Ready for Love will return. The show has experienced embarrassingly low ratings, dropping to 3.2 million for its second episode. This comes despite having The Voice, NBC’s biggest hit by a large margin, as a lead-in.
There’s also no word on what will replace the previously-scheduled two-hour episode of Ready for Love set to air Tuesday, April 23 at 9pm.
It will be interesting to see if The Voice lead-in can help Grimm more than Ready for Love. Grimm has actually done quite well for NBC on Fridays, bringing in an average of 5 million viewers, which is considerably higher than most of the network’s programming.
The move is also one of the extremely rare instances of a show being rescued from the Friday death slot, as it’s usually the day of the week networks save for shows they don’t care about or want to die. This boost of confidence in Grimm bodes well for the show’s future.

TUESDAY, APRIL 30 (through the end of the season)
8pm: The Voice

The Voice is scheduled for two-hour episodes on Tuesday, April 30 and May 7, but it’s unclear what will air at the 9pm hour after that.
In addition, NBC has also announced that an upcoming episode of Hannibal featuring killers who are children will not air due to recent tragedies. It is not rescheduled, so as of now, the season will simply end one week earlier and the episode will disappear, possibly to return online, as part of a possible season 2 or maybe just on the DVD.
