In the afterlife of Lost, the stars really are coming together. Terry O’Quinn, who earned an Emmy as John Locke, is joining the cast of the hit CBS drama Hawaii Five-0 in a recurring role, according to TVLine. Not only does the move bring him back to Hawaii, but it also reunites him with Lost co-star Daniel Dae Kim.
O’Quinn will play a Navy SEAL Lt. Commander who trained Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and who also served with McGarrett’s father in Vietnam. He will also bring more information about the circumstances surrounding the death of Steve’s mother and father.
The Hawaii Five-0 role marks O’Quinn’s first series since the end of Lost last year. He also joins several other Losties who will be coming to TV this fall.
Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert) stars in the new CW drama Ringer and Michael Emerson (Ben Linus) stars in the new CBS drama Person of Interest. In mid-season, Jorge Garcia returns on FOX’s Alcatraz.
The move should help bring even more love to Hawaii Five-0, which already has an unbelievably strong sci-fi star pedigree. It also teams O’Quinn with one of the men who he beat for the Supporting Actor Emmy in 2007, new Hawaii Five-0 series regular Masi Oka, who was nominated for Heroes.
