There’s a new governator in town this fall, and his name is Richard T. Jones. The star of FOX’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, will be taking over the governor’s seat on the hit CBS drama Hawaii Five-0, according to TVGuide.
Jones will play the Lt. Governor of Jean Smart’s character, who was killed in the shocking first season finale of Hawaii Five-0. He joins the growing list of actors signing up for the second season, including Lost‘s Terry O’Quinn as an old friend of Steve McGarrett’s father and Tom Sizemore as the head of Internal Affairs.
The role also marks another success story for the cast of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. In the past year Lena Headey took charge on HBO’s Game of Thrones and Garret Dillahunt showed off his funny side on FOX’s Raising Hope. Also this fall, Thomas Dekker returns to TV on the new CW drama The Secret Circle.
Sadly, that leaves Summer Glau as the least successful member of the original Sarah Connor Chronicles cast. Despite a huge fanbase, her big follow-up series, The Cape, was a big failure and did not last six seasons and a movie, as Community‘s Abed predicted.
Maybe Hawaii Five-0 could add Glau as the super sexy head of the new governor’s security detail. After all, given what happened to the last governor, he’s going to need some serious protection.
Hawaii Five-0’s second season returns Monday, September 19 at 10pm on CBS.
