If there’s one thing Michael Trucco is good at, it’s playing a man who the ladies can’t resist. According to TV Guide, Trucco will show up on How I Met Your Mother as a man Robin is crushing on, and they also report that he’ll be returning next season as a big part of Robin’s future.
This should come as no surprise to anyone who’s followed Trucco’s career, since he’s made a habit of wooing ladies on dramas, sci-fi shows, comedies and more. No matter what the medium, Michael Trucco is a man the ladies love.
Need proof? Go back to Battlestar Galactica, where he played the guy who married the emotionally distant Starbuck. Even her tough exterior couldn’t resist him, though that may be because, spoiler alert, he was a Cylon.
He also stole the hearts of Kate Beckett on several episodes of Castle as a bad-ass detective, and he got Penny hot and bothered as a hunky scientist on The Big Bang Theory. Check out a photo of Trucco’s Tom Demming who really got on top of Beckett on Castle.
If that’s still not enough, he is also a series regular on the USA drama Fairly Legal where, even after professional mediator Kate divorced him, she still goes back for more loving. If you’re not watching the show, maybe the fact that an entire plot was built around Trucco’s character stripping down to talk to a nudist neighbor might get you interested.
None of this should come as any surprise, since he was hooking up with Rachel on One Tree Hill five years ago, and 10 years ago he played Sabrina’s boyfriend on several episodes of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, proving that he could get the ladies at any point in time.
The point is that Robin Scherbotsky doesn’t stand a chance. With Michael Trucco showing up on the April 18 episode of How I Met Your Mother, Robin is as good as gotten, making it incredibly possible that her wedding to this dashing newcomer may be the one where Ted finally meets the Mother. However, fact that Barney’s new crush Nora (Nazanin Boniadi) is also scheduled to appear in this season’s finale might point to another possible couple.
Only time will tell whose wedding Ted will attend to meet the mysterious Mother, but one thing we do know is that Robin’s new man is definitely a keeper.
