Fans of Naruto have yet another thing to look forward to this month of February.  TOMY Corporation and D3Publisher of America, Inc. have just come up with the first-ever head-to-head 3-D Naruto fighting game for the Nintendo DS handheld system called Naruto: Ninja Destiny.

Scheduled to ship this month, Naruto: Ninja Destiny is a video game based on the animated television series Naruto, which currently airs on Cartoon Network.  The game allows characters from the TV series to face-off against each other in high-energy combat.  In addition, players can use both screens for a one of a kind gameplay featuring trademark ninja moves and the cinematic special techniques of the manga world.

“We’ve listened to the fans and made a slew of improvements to the Japanese original, including a much faster frame rate, additional characters, and never before seen content,” Laura Yoshioka, director, consumer software of TOMY Corporation, said in a statement.  “Through the innovative use of the dual displays and touch screens, Naruto: Ninja Destiny will bring the series’ iconic battles to players in a way that is only possible on the DS.”

For those who are not familiar, Naruto is an animated series based on the manga written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.  The show follows the adventures of Naruto Uzumaki, a loud, unpredictable and hyperactive boy who is usually up to his prankster antics but is determined to become the greatest ninja ever.

The show has a colorful cast of characters, running a range of detailed histories and complex personalities. These include Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and team leader, Kakashi Hatake. Together with Naruto, they face many challenges, make friends, face deadly enemies, and try to survive each other.

Meanwhile, fans can catch back to back premiere episodes of Naruto every Saturday at 9pm on Cartoon Network.
