CBS is the last of the five major networks to get into the business of revealing its new shows for the 2014-2015 TV season. Following early renewals for most of its current shows, the network is adding seven new programs to the list.
Not on the list is How I Met Your Dad, which has been rumored to be picked up. The list does include news spin-offs for NCIS and CSI and an Odd Couple reboot starring Matthew Perry. The network previously ordered Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan’s Michigan detective drama Battle Creek.
NEW DRAMAS
NCIS: New Orleans: The latest spin-off of the popular CBS franchise stars Scott Bakula and CCH Pounder.
CSI: Cyber: The third spin-off from the original series, this one centers on tech crimes and stars Patricia Arquette.
Madam Secretary: A drama about a maverick female Secretary of State starring Tea Leoni, Tim Daly, and Bebe Neuwirth.
Scorpion: Starring Katharine McPhee and Robert Patrick, this show is about a group of geniuses who defend the world against various modern threats.
Stalker: From executive producer Kevin Williamson (The Following) this drama follows L.A. detectives who handle stalking cases. It stars Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story, Hostages) and Maggie Q (Nikita).
NEW COMEDIES
The Odd Couple: A remake of the classic series, this multi-camera sitcom stars Friends‘ Matthew Perry as messy Oscar and Thomas Lennon as the neat Felix.
The McCarthys: This comedy is about a big, Catholic, sports-loving Boston family and their gay son. It stars Rescue Me‘s Jack McGee, Joey McIntyre, and Laurie Metcalf.
These shows join CBS’ roster of 18 programs already renewed for next season.
