That pretty much wraps it up, then. One Tree Hill version 2.0 continues stocking up for battle–flimsy metaphor, I know–with a familiar face returning for the sixth season: Danneel Harris.
Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello spilled the detail a week ago, but only now did representatives from the CW confirm. The return of Brooke’s high school nemesis Rachel Gatina is set for at least seven episodes next season, starting from the second one.
History lesson, then: her character showed up in the third season, but was only promoted as a regular in the fourth. She pretty much disappeared in the fifth season, when OTH stepped on a time machine and moved ahead by five years. I predict they’ll be explaining a few things, especially since they’re taking another flash forward, although it’s just a year.
Another history lesson: Harris’ inclusion makes her the fourth new member of OTH–okay, not exactly, but playing with the point of giving new energy to the show after Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton left, then this makes sense. Just earlier today, we reported that 90210 recurring cast member Jana Kramer snagged the role of Alexis, the new face of Brooke’s clothing line. Of course, there’s Robert Buckley as Nathan’s sports agent, and Shantel VanSantel as Haley’s older sister.
