Things are coming to an end for One Tree Hill season 8. While the men are dealing with the fact that Ian Kellerman is responsible for the accident that almost killed Brooke and Jamie, the women are focused more on the end of the things they used to love.
The River Court is being demolished and Brooke is moving to New York City to restart her career at Clothes Over Bros. In this clip from the next new episode, we see Brooke’s hilarious attempt to buy Lydia from Haley and we also get another piece of One Tree Hill nostalgia: a sign from Karen’s Cafe.
With all of this looking back, it’s starting to feel like this might actually be the end of One Tree Hill. Currently it’s the only CW mainstay not to get picked up for next season (the network’s two new shows, Nikita and Hellcats, are also waiting for news on their futures while 90210, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural all got picked up for next year).
While many of the actors (with the exception of James Lafferty) have already signed contracts ensuring that they would come back for season 9 if it happens, the network is still waiting. I’m sure the show could continue (it did after Lucas and Peyton left), but if they’re going to tear down the River Court, maybe it’s best to just say goodbye now.
The longer One Tree Hill is on the air, the harder it will be to say farewell when its time finally comes.
