Dominic Purcell has been quite open with what viewers can expect to see from Prison Break‘s next season, sharing some interest-inducing details not only about his character, Lincoln Burrows, but about others as well. According to Purcell, the show is returning to “what we do best, which is the whole prison thing,” with Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) dealing with a lawless prison system in Panama and new breed of inmates. More importantly, Purcell also expressed great confidence in the third season, saying that he truly believes it is the best one yet.
While Purcell has been candid about answering questions about Prison Break’s third season, his co-star Amaury Nolasco has taken a more cryptic stance. In the previous season, Nolasco’s character, Fernando Sucre, experienced a number of trials, including the kidnapping of his beloved Maricruz (Camille Guaty) and being stabbed by serial killer, T-Bag (Robert Knepper). In discussing what Sucre will be doing in the upcoming season, Nolasco said the first few episodes will help shed some light on an important matter.
“There are a lot of loose ends we’re going to eventually come together with and stories we’re going to have to come to an understanding or leave them hanging a little longer,” Amaury Nolasco said. “[Maricruz’ kidnapping is] one of the stories. Sucre’s doing the search for his girl and we’ll see in the first few episodes what will happen with that.”
Despite not having divulged any other information, Amaury Nolasco did say that Prison Break is “pushing the envelope” to the point where it’s uncertain whether some of the end product will be permitted to air on television.
“I have to say it’s a no-man’s world where we are going. It’s a prison where guards aren’t even allowed, so that tells you a little about what’s going to happen. It’s interesting in that respect,” he said. “What I love about the show is it keeps reinventing itself every season into something different. It takes people for a ride.”
The third season of Prison Break will premiere on Monday, September 17.
