Tina Fey kicked off the season 39 premiere of Saturday Night Live last weekend and helped to introduce the six new cast members joining the sketch comedy show. Now the controversial and scandalous singer who’s known for sticking her tongue out and twerking, all while doing inappropriate things with a foam finger, is up next.
Yes, that’s right: Miley “Forget I Ever Played Hannah Montana” Cyrus will be hosting SNL this weekend — and not only that, she’s the musical guest as well; the timing is perfect considering her new album, the strangely titled Bangerz, will be released next Tuesday.
A series of promos has been released by NBC featuring Cyrus and cast member Taran Killam, who scolds the singer over her MTV VMA performance. Oh, and check this out: she also explains why she’s always sticking her tongue out — it turns out she’s like a snake because she uses her tongue to smell. Good to know; maybe she should get her nose checked out.
Miley Cyrus has hosted SNL before, in 2011. I don’t really remember it all that well, but I’m sure she’s game for making light of her controversies, and there’ll no doubt be plenty of references to her VMA performance. What’s great is when celebs can make fun of themselves and not take things too seriously, which I’m sure she’ll do this weekend.
Are you excited that Miley Cyrus is hosting SNL? Should we expect to see a Miley Cyrus Show sketch with Vanessa Bayer?
Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:35pm on NBC.
