There are only three new episodes of Scandal left in 2014, and things are about to get intense. The fall finale, “Where the Sun Don’t Shine,” will air Thursday, November 20 at 9pm on ABC, and now we have details on the episode itself and one very big returning guest star.
According to THR, Khandi Alexander will reprise her role as Mama Pope in the midseason finale of Scandal. While everyone thinks she’s dead (because that’s what Rowan has been telling them), he actually locked her up in the B-613 dungeon after framing her for the assassination of Fitz’s son. Now, of course, Jake is the primary suspect and Mama Pope has been exonerated, but does Rowan still have plans for her?
Besides Alexander, the Scandal midseason finale will be full of major recurring players, including Rowan, Charlie (who ratted out Rowan to Jake), the vice president and RNC Chairwoman Lizzie.

“Command is always two steps ahead and everyone in Olivia’s life is in danger. Meanwhile, Cyrus is forced to face the consequences of his behavior, and Huck and Quinn finally figure out just what Elizabeth North has been planning, but they might be too late to stop it.”
So Olivia’s life is in danger, that’s no real surprise, except that it means she will probably be declaring full-scale war on her father over Jake.
The most interesting part is that Huck and Quinn are, for some reason, investigating RNC Chairwoman Elizabeth North (Portia de Rossi). Either Cyrus hires OPA to deal with his male gigolo scandal or perhaps this could be a clue that Lizzie is connected to Caitlin’s murder and the photos of Olivia that Quinn found in the locker. Perhaps her master plan involves more than just blackmailing Cyrus.
