Relationships are tricky business, particularly if you’re either a rich and famous Hollywood star or a fictional character. In Shipping News each week, I break down for you the three most note-worthy (to me!) relationships — i.e., ships — o’ the week into the Tip-Top Ship Shape (for the best ship of the week), That Ship Has Sailed (for romances that fell apart) and You Sunk My Relation Ship (for the most devastating moment in a romance we’re shipping for). Got a duo you’re totally shipping for? Drop me a line in the comments, and you may see them featured here.
Tip-Top Ship Shape: Tony Romo & Candice Crawford
Another of Jessica Simpson’s exes is tying the knot, y’all! Tony Romo and Gossip Girl‘s Chace Candice Crawford — former beauty queen and little sis to the Gossip Girl star — are engaged. Romo and Crawford have been together since September 2009 — two months after the Dallas Cowboys quarterback split with Jessica Simpson. Congrats to the happy couple!
That Ship Has Sailed: Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens
It was a week chock full o’ Hollywood breakups, but the one that made our jaws pop the loudest (we have a mild case of TMJ) was that of High School Musical sweethearts Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. Doesn’t everyone stay with the person they started dating as a teenager forever and ever?! (Or should we say 4eva?) We really thought these kids would last at least longer than Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds (personally, we’re shipping for a Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock union).
You Sunk My Relation Ship: Penny & Leonard, The Big Bang Theory
Penny was opposed to her new boyfriend Zack befriending Leonard and his friends, but the real reason was that she found it hard to spend time with her ex. It looked like Penny and Leonard might finally reunite, but at the New Year’s Eve costume party, it was Zack (dressed as Superman) who kissed Penny (dressed as Wonder Woman), sinking any chance of a relationship reunion for the moment. Ironically, Superman is Leonard and Penny’s Kryptonite.
