Last week on Smallville, Jimmy Olsen, enterprising photographer that he is, managed to capture Clark’s likeness, or rather, a red and blue blur, on film, and figured out that Clark has superpowers. Fortunately, Oliver helped Clark keep his identity a secret, but in the fallout, Chloe proved that she’s much darker than she used to be.
This week on Smallville, Laura Vandervoort returns as Kara Kent. When last we saw her, at the end of Smallville’s seventh season, she was floating around in space in the Phantom Zone. Well, this week, Clark will be forced to pay a visit to her there.
The official CW synopsis of the episode “Bloodline” reads: “Clark (Tom Welling) receives an anonymous package containing the crystal that Tess (Cassidy Freeman) found in the Arctic. When he removes the crystal, it activates and sends him and a visiting Lois (Erica Durance) to the Phantom Zone where they run into Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort). Kara opens a portal for Lois to return but Zod’s wife Faora escapes with her and takes over Lois’ body. A possessed Lois goes on a rampage in Metropolis. Allison Mack, Aaron Ashmore and Justin Hartley also star.”
This first photo shows that there will be much eye candy for those who like men. Sam Witwer looks mighty fine without a shirt on, doesn’t he?
Here, we see Lois and Davis Bloom together. Perhaps, this is after Faora has taken over Lois’ body.
In this final photo, we can see Kara Kent’s new outfit. I really can’t make heads or tails out of it. The leather bra over her clothes seems in keeping with the standard superhero custom of wearing your underwear on the outside, but the little gold drape of fabric over her crotch makes her ensemble look like a Project Runway challenge gone awry.
Let’s take a look at this clip from “Bloodline.” Kara looks menacing by sharpening her knife on a rock. She knows of a way out of the Phantom Zone, but somehow she hasn’t used it to get herself out.
