After continually struggling in the ratings during its current season, it should come as no surprise that NBC will be moving Smash to Saturday nights at 9pm starting April 6. Saturday, as we know, is the night that networks usually burn off remaining episodes of shows that are effectively cancelled. The good news for Smash fans is that NBC will air all of the remaining season 2 episodes, though I guess the network didn’t want to let The Voice try to prop it up during the rest of its duration.

NBC has also announced some other scheduling changes to its lineup:
Ready for Love, Eva Longoria’s dating reality show, originally scheduled for Sunday nights, will now air on Tuesdays starting on April 9 (9-11pm) following The Voice results shows — so this is the show taking over Smash‘s timeslot? Seriously?
The Celebrity Apprentice has always been two hours. But this year, they were going to switch to just one hour a week at the end of March. Now, the All-Star edition will stick with two hours from April 14 (9-11pm) until the finale in May.
Speaking of The Apprentice, encore episodes of The Voice will air before the Donald Trump hosted reality competition on March 31 and April 7 from 7-10pm. Is NBC really giving up three hours to repeats on Sundays? They probably figure ratings for The Voice, even in repeats, will be better for them than original programming.
As for the network’s comedies, Whitney‘s season finale, expanded to one hour, airs Wednesday, March 27 from 8-9pm.
The New Normal concludes its current season on Tuesday, April 2 with a one-hour finale (9-10pm) after The Voice.
On April 4 and April 11, Go On moves to Thursdays (9:30-10pm) for its final two weeks of season 1, immediately after episodes of The Office.
