To say that this season of So You Think You Can Dance has been a roller coaster for Comfort Fedoke is an understatement.  She had her ups and downs in the Vegas audition rounds but prevailed, making it through to the Top 20.  Almost immediately, she found herself in the bottom groups, up for elimination, week after week.  She and partner Thayne Jasperson were sent home right before making Top 10 but were selected to go on tour as swings.  Right after she was eliminated, Jessica King got injured and was forced to drop out of the competition so Comfort was brought back.  She landed in the bottom two that week, but Kherington Payne went home.  This week became her last (for the second time) and she was sent home for good.  Today, she spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview!

Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview.

Hey everybody, this is Gina from BuddyTV and today I’m talking to Comfort from So You Think You Can Dance. Tell me about being brought back on the show for a second time, was that something that was just totally unexpected for you?

Oh definitely, it was very unexpected. I was just sitting in the hotel getting ready to go home and they called and told me to come back. They didn’t give me an explanation the first minute, so I found out later that day that I was going to be back in the running for the show because of Jessica, and taking it in, I was just like, “Wow, I’m going to go through this elimination thing and all this all over again.”

Were you surprised last week when it ended up being Kherington going home and not you? Had you prepared yourself to go home again right away?

Oh definitely, I definitely prepared myself. I’m not the kind of person who’s just going to put a cover over my eyes, I don’t know how it’s going to happen. So I definitely was prepared, because Kherington is a great person and for me to even be right up against her in that situation…I just want you to know that America votes and swings whatever way they want to swing. I just took it like that and I was blessed to stay for another week. I was definitely surprised.

And you lucked out because you got to do hip hop two weeks in a row, you must’ve been happy about that.

I wasn’t too happy. I was like, “Hip hop, what you want? Uh oh, I messed up again.

Do you think that you’ve been underestimated this season by either the judges or the viewers?

Oh heck yeah, just a little bit. Because obviously the world doesn’t actually know that…I tried to explain myself more and more that I don’t have as much training as I wish I could’ve had, and I know that probably could’ve helped me have some really great numbers. A lot of the time when I got bashed for my numbers it was because of technique or something like that. It was hard being a hip hop girl and me being such a straight-up street dancer, it was hard to transform into any dresses and skirts.

We know that Twitch is still left in the competition, is it possible for a hip hop dancer to win this thing?

I think so. I very much think it’s possible. It hasn’t happened, and it hasn’t happened that there were so many hop hop dancers on the show before, so I’m definitely just rooting for that to happen.

You seem like you got really close to the male dancers this season, like you’re just one of the guys, hanging out with them.

No, that’s just how it looks. It’s sort of natural, it comes extremely natural, but me and my roomie Katie were very, very close. But yeah, I got really close to the guys, they were like brothers to me. I have a whole lot of brothers back at home, and I haven’t been able to see them or talk to them, so I just meshed with the guys like Twitch, Josh, Mark and Will, it was just like home, basically, they made me feel home.

When Thayne was eliminated he told me that he and you will be the swings on the tour this season, right?

Yes, we’ll definitely be the swings on the tour.

What are you most looking forward to, going out on this national tour?

I’m looking forward to coming to my city, to my town, and just having fun on stage and just rocking and performing, because now it’s stress-free. You don’t have to worry about getting kicked off, you don’t have to worry about the screaming, I don’t have to worry about anything like that. It’ll just be all of us performing and entertaining and that’s exactly what I love to do.

Do you plan on going to any of the tapings of the show before the finale to root everybody on?

Definitely I’m going to try to go to one of the tapings before the finale, but I’m going to be leaving real soon to go back home and be back soon to perform in the finale. So I’m going to see these cats in a couple more weeks.

We can’t wait to see you at the finale, and thanks so much Comfort, I appreciate it.

Thank you.
