Hok Konishi and
Jaimie Goodwin's performance of the hummingbird and flower jazz dance, choreographed by the insanely brilliant Wade Robson, was my favorite routine of my favorite competitive reality show,
So You Think You Can Dance. Everything about it just blew my socks off, from the haunting violin music ("Chairman's Waltz" off the
Memoirs of a Geisha soundtrack) to the costumes and makeup (I love Hok's shimmery green eye shadow and Jaimie's pointy hair) to the beautiful movements evocative of the hummingbird and flower that Hok and Jaimie respectively represent.

Robson knew his dancers' abilities well when he choreographed this piece, adding touches of break-dancing for Hok and elegant développés for Jaimie. The chemistry between these two phenomenal dancers is palpable as they navigate the complex rhythms of the love story between the hummingbird and the flower. It's just amazing to behold, and I never tire of watching it. Thank goodness for YouTube!
