Sons of Anarchy actor Johnny Lewis was found dead last night in Los Angeles and in a story that sounds like it could come straight out of a TV script, the actor has also been accused of murder.
I first heard this story last night when it appeared on the local news here in Los Angeles. At the time, it was simply a sad story of an elderly woman found murdered inside her home when neighbors called the police after hearing cries for help. The news report also told that the body of a man was also found at the scene but details were sketchy and no one knew who he was or if he was connected to the murder.
I was shocked to wake up this morning and find out that the body of the unknown man was actor Johnny Lewis, perhaps best known for appearing in two seasons of FX’s hit series Sons of Anarchy.
Details are still continuing to come in, but here’s what we’ve been able to gather so far.
According to ABC News and EW.com, LAPD Commander Andrew Smith said, “[Lewis] appeared to have died from some type of fall, either from the stairway, or from the balcony, or from one of the roofs.”
Once officers went inside the home, they discovered the body of 81-year-old Catherine Davis, who was Lewis’ landlord. Reportedly, a neighbor and handyman were also found badly beaten in a confrontation they had with Lewis.
Smith said, “The best we’re piecing together now is that it appears that some type of altercation occurred inside of the house resulting in the death of the woman, then this individual ran outside, had an altercation with a couple of neighbors, ran back into the house and by the time we got here, he had fallen or had somehow died on the driveway.”
When I first saw the headline, I have to admit to thinking for one second that it was either a very bad joke or that I had misread it somehow. With all the talk of this week’s big episode and all the “who died?” articles about it, I thought that it was just more news about that. It’s hard to believe that this actually happened and is not a plot in a TV show or movie.
