The world is a more Padaleckier place today. Very late Monday night, Supernatural star Jared Padalecki took to Twitter to proudly proclaim “It’s a boy :),” confirming that his wife had given birth to their son on Monday, March 19.
Genevieve Padalecki gave birth in Seattle, just across the border from Vancouver, where Jared films Supernatural. No further details about their son have been given yet.

Jared and Genevieve worked together on Supernatural, where she played the demon Ruby in season’s 4 and 5 (and where she played herself in season 6’s “The French Mistake”). The two were married in 2010 and this is their first child together.
According to earlier reports, Padalecki will take several days off of filming Supernatural, but he will return as the show is currently filming the final episodes of season 7 and he will not be absent from the series.
Prior to the birth, the Padaleckis asked fans to help support the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and promised that all donations made up until the birth of their son would be matched by them. The total donated by fans was over $40,000.
