Congratulations are in order for the star of the CW’s Supernatural. Jensen Ackles and his wife, former One Tree Hill star Danneel Ackles, are officially parents. Danneel tweeted that she gave birth to their first child, a baby girl, on Thursday, May 30.
The baby is named Justice Jay Ackles, or J.J. for short. You have to admit, that’s a pretty awesome name, although I have a feeling quite a few people who only read her name might assume she’s a boy.
Jensen and Danneel were married on May 15, 2010 after dating for more than three years. The two notably worked together in the 2007 film Ten Inch Hero. He’s best known for playing Dean Winchester’s Supernatural, which begins its ninth season this fall, while Danneel is known as bad girl Rachel from the CW’s One Tree Hill. Most recently she had a recurring role on ABC’s How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life).
This is the first child for both of them. Jensen’s Supernatural co-star, Jared Padalecki, is also married to a former co-star (Supernatural‘s own Genevieve Padalecki) and they had their first child, a son named Thomas Colton Padalecki, more than a year ago.
And here’s a fun little fact for hardcore Supernatural fans: J.J. Ackles shares her birthday with Supernatural star Mark Sheppard, who plays Crowley, the King of Hell.
We wish nothing but the best for the newest addition to the Ackles family, and hopefully the newest future Dean fan.
