May is still a long time away, but the CW already has big plans for the finales of its Friday night sci-fi/fantasy shows, Smallville and Supernatural. Both shows will get special two-hour season finales (or in the case of Smallville, a series finale).
Smallville will officially end its 10-season run with a two-hour series finale Friday, May 13 at 8pm. The following week, the final two episodes of Supernatural‘s sixth season will take over the night starting at 8pm.
How Should Smallville End?>>
The decision helps to make sure that Smallville can say goodbye in one large event. It will also give Supernatural fans a treat as it will be the first time in the show’s history that they’ll get two new hours of show on a single night.
Will Supernatural Be Back for Season 7?>>
The only somewhat disappointing part for Supernatural fans is that this means the show will not air on May 13. Instead, fans will have to take a week off between the 20th episode of season 6 and the two-hour finale.
New episodes of Smallville and Supernatural are currently airing Fridays at 8pm and 9pm on the CW.
