Raven has been through more in less than a year than most people deal with in a lifetime. On The 100, she jettisoned to Earth in a less than trustworthy pod, found her boyfriend with another woman, faced off against the Grounders, watched her friend kill the love of her life, injured her leg and was nearly killed for her marrow at Mount Weather. Not too much happened, right?
BuddyTV caught up with Lindsey Morgan as she spoke with reporters to find out how Raven will be dealing with all that she’s been through and in The 100 Season 3 with Clarke’s departure.
On Season 3 Raven
Morgan: [The 100] always stays true to the ramifications of the actions we take as far as Season 1 to Season 2. I feel like everything is moving so quickly and there is so much immediate danger and threat that they have to attend to that you don’t really get to see the toll of what they’ve really done on them.
I feel in Season 3, we’re going to have a chance to see what losing Finn really meant to Raven, what killing all those Grounders in Season 1 felt like to Raven, what losing Clarke now feels to Raven. And who she is now– losing her leg, being with Wick. There’s so many changes in her world. I wouldn’t say a new Raven, but a changed Raven as any human naturally would be after going through what she went through.
Will Raven stop getting hurt in Season 3?
Morgan: I personally would love it if Raven got a break and didn’t get hurt as much, but I think one of the best things about Raven is that she always rebuilding herself. She’s not going to give up on herself. Season 3 is going to test her in a different way than any other season has, so hopefully she’ll stay strong.
What’s Raven’s relationship with Abby? They’ve always had a strong bond. Clarke’s gone now. As the season begins, will they be leaning on each other?
Morgan: I think, yes, because like you said Abby and Raven have always had a really unique and close relationship. Now that Clarke’s gone, Raven could fall into that role for Abby, but Abby is also the Chancellor and also a doctor and not just her friend.
Sometimes by being her friend and having those other positions, it blurs lines and it’s hard. As much as they are close, they butt heads a little bit. It’s sometimes good, because sometimes you need your friends to tell you the truth. You know what I mean like give you a reality check. Hopefully, I just don’t get slapped in the face.
Clarke and Raven got closer together. Is she going to feel Clarke’s absence as much as Abby and Bellamy?
Morgan: Yeah, I definitely think Raven will feel Clarke’s absence because she shares something with Clarke that no one else does and she can’t share with anyone else and that’s Finn. As weird as that sounds, Clarke is really the only other person in the world who knows what it’s like to lose him and the pain and the heartbreak and the hurt that they are both going through. What they went through together losing him and life without him. Now that Raven’s lost Clarke too, it’s tough for her. I think she feels very alone.
