The controversy surrounding Ed Swiderski seems to be getting out of hand. The Bachelorette star Jillian Harris has already slammed reports about her fiance’s alleged girlfriends but that hasn’t extinguished the rumors one bit. Last week, it was all about Swiderski sending racy text messages and emails to two different ex-girlfriends, Bethany Steffen and Lindsey Johnson, while romancing Harris on the ABC reality dating series. This time, it’s all about Swiderski sleeping with one woman and trying to bed another days after proposing to Harris on national TV.
What I can’t figure out is: why now? Either there really is some kind of truth to this, or it’s some kind of ploy to break-up The Bachelorette couple. At any rate, below you can find the alleged exchange between Johnson and Swiderski before Ed reportedly left The Bachelorette for “work.”
April 10, 4:28pm: “I’m going to molest you when I get home. Can you pick me up?”
April 10, 4:36pm: “I’ll call you as soon as I get my phone back.”
April 11, 2:35pm: “Trying to leave tomorrow … hopefully I can pull this off.”
April 11, 2:43pm: “Trying, though it’s not that easy. This whole show is a complete mind f–k!”
April 12, 8:35pm: [After Lindsey Johnson wrote that “it’s not fair” Ed was gone longer than the two weeks he promised] “You are right and I miss you dearly. I love you. I’m letting them know tonight. They’ll get me home tomorrow.”
Bethany Steffen, on the other hand, maintains that Swiderski “never took The Bachelorette seriously.”
“I let the director know I would be doing it for the wrong reasons, as I am not, in any way, attracted to the chick,” Swiderski allegedly told Steffen. “It’s about a 25 percent chance of me going, though it’s seriously the last thing I am thinking about right now. I was really hoping to grab your ass!”
While Harris says that her relationship with Swiderski is still going strong and that marriage is still in the cards for the Bachelorette couple, she does acknowledge that the bad publicity isn’t easy to take.
“I’ll admit, I was tearing up with my dad this morning,” Jillian told The Province newspaper Thursday. “I would never do anything mean-spirited in my life. I’ll never say a mean thing about one of those girls even though I’m very confused why they would do something like this… I just don’t really get it, but that’s part of what I signed up for and I just need to hold on tight and get through it.”
