Dusky Real Housewives of Atlanta star Sheree Whitfield just got herself included in the long list of casualties to the economic downturn. The former wife of NFL player Bob Whitfield reportedly foreclosed her Sandy Springs, Georgia home and was sold for a huge bargain. The near-9,000 square feet property was initially listed for $2.8 million but was sold for $1.1 mil.
The star of the Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta reportedly took all of the kitchen appliances before turning over the home, outfitted with six bedrooms, eight full and two half bathrooms, to its new owners.
The Ohio native has three kids with her former athlete husband, and observers say the development may mean the divorce proceedings may not have turned out well in her favor. Elsewhere, she is attempting to develop a clothing line called She by Sheree. She had a feud with cast mate NeNe Leakes earlier in the show, but has since forgiven her.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta was the first in the franchise to ever hit the two million viewer mark among the all-important 18-49 demo, averaging around 1.13 million throughout the season. It was renewed for a sophomore run late December last year.
The series, which premiered in early October of 2008, follows the lives of five wealthy women based in Atlanta (although not necessarily living there. Whitfield is joined by philanthropist NeNe Leakes, basketball player Eric Snow’s wife DeShawn Snow, football player Edgerton Hartwell’s wife Lisa Wu Hartwell, and aspiring singer Kim Zolciak.
