To say that The Real Housewives of New Jersey is returning for another season is a no-brainer. The show has delivered gossip-worthy ratings ever since it premiered in May and has attracted nearly 3 million total viewers during its explosive reunion special, becoming the most watched Housewives reunion special ever. While Bravo hasn’t released an official statement regarding the second season order, Life & Style is already reporting that that shooting for the new season will start in a month.
“They’re doing a second season, and it’s going to be crazier than the first,” an insider told Life & Style. “It’s going to explode.”
In most cases in the past, Bravo has already announced a new season order even before a show wraps up especially if it’s a ratings grabber. But unlike the other shows on the Real Housewives franchise, the announcement for the new season pick-up for The Real Housewives of New Jersey has been delayed. So what’s the hold up?
Evidently, the girls on The Real Housewives of New Jersey are holding out for much bigger paychecks.
“There’s no premiere date, but everyone knows it’s going to be a huge hit. The reason it has taken so long to announce is that once the show became such a hit, the women held out for much bigger paychecks,” the insider revealed.
As BuddyTV also reported earlier this month, only Danielle Staub is eager to do another season of the show. Teresa Giudice seems open to the idea because of the exposure of her budding actress daughter but the rest of the New Jersey Housewives seem to be weary of all the drama.
“[The reality TV genre] really is so not me. I run from drama. The Housewives franchise is about drama. Right now I just want to take a long nap,” Dina Manzo said.
