The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Lynne Curtin and her husband Frank are no strangers to court drama. In the past nine months alone, the couple has faced three lawsuits— the latest of which has gotten them evicted from the house they currently live in.
According to Radar Online, which has uncovered the court documents, the owner of the house filed an unlawful detainer against Lynne and Frank last October alleging they failed to pay the balance on their security deposit and failed to make their monthly rental payment of $2,595. Subsequently, the Curtins were ordered to pay $3,215. for back rent and fees as the owner was now entitled to take possession of the house. Court papers also said that the Orange County Sheriff’s Department served the couple a five-day notice to vacate the premises on November 2, 2009.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The Real Housewives of Orange County couple also has a $1.2 million dollar case against them in neighboring Riverside County, and court records show that since 2000, Lynne and Frank, have had five unlawful detainers filed against them.
“We are all perplexed at what Lynne does with her money,” a show insider told Radar Online. “She’s making $90K this year for appearing on the show, making more than enough to afford her monthly rent. I guess they are professional squatters!”
Frank, on the other hand, has his own side of the story, citing financial struggle as the main reason for what happened. “”My business all went south and I have been trying to work my way out of it. In the last 4 years I have lost everything, and I went through some really hard times,” he said. “This has been the worst year of my life. And now I am in the public eye from a TV show…what have I gotten myself into?”
